Want to see an Off Broadway show for a couple of bucks? You can now through a ticket that will give you access to it via technology as Off Broadway taps the Web as a way to give more people a front row seat.
The Off-Broadway production of The Crusade of Connor Stephens will be streamed live at 8 p.m. on Aug. 3, giving global access to the production and potentially opening up the New York show to out of town audiences.
Viewers can access the show at www.Crusade2017.com/livestream for $1.99 through Aug. 2 and $3.99 the day of the show. The price of admission includes access to multiple viewings.
“We are so thrilled to utilize this new technology to allow people from across the globe to experience The Crusade of Connor Stephens,” said Dewey Moss, author and director. “The live-streaming of a new Off-Broadway play is a rare occurrence.”
The two-hour show, at the Jerry Orbach Theater, tells the story of a Texas family following a tragic school shooting as their story becomes an allegory for the national debate over many issues.
The show debuted at the 2017 Midtown International Theater Festival, ,winning seven MITF awards, including Best Overall Production (DMoss Productions), Best Play (Dewey Moss), Best Director (Dewey Moss), Best Actor (James Kiberd), Best Actress (Kathryn Leask), Best Supporting Actor (Ben Curtis), and Best Supporting Actress (Kathleen Huber).
Performances are Mondays at 7:30 p.m., Tuesdays at 8 p.m., Thursdays at 8 p.m., Fridays at 8 p.m., Saturdays at 8 p.m., and Sundays at 3 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.
