The Stella Adler Studio of Acting this month will premiere its first-ever off-Broadway production with Israel Horovitz’s acclaimed 1997 play, Lebensraum.
Set in the early 21st century, the play centers on a German chancellor who implements a Holocaust-reparations plan — one that invites six million Jews to return to the country. Directed by Don K. Williams, Lebensraum stars Aidan Koehler, Adam Gerber and Mickey Ryan, three actors from the Harold Clurman Laboratory Theater Company.
Stella Adler is a nonprofit organization that trains more than 500 actors annually. The studio also presents world-class lectures, poetry readings, jazz, classical music, theater, and dance events. Lebensraum marks the studio’s first off-Broadway production in its 62-year history.
Lebensraum will play October 29 - November 20 at June Havoc Theater in the Abingdon Theatre Complex, 312 W. 36th St. Visit www.stellaadler.com or www.abingdontheatre.org for more information.
